Planmeca recently introduced the PlanMill 35 milling unit, which is part of the new Planmeca FIT® CAD/CAM System.
The chairside unit can mill crowns, inlays, onlays, veneers and up to 3-unit bridges, according to the company website. It can quickly and easily be changed from wet to dry milling and offers fast mill times for a variety of materials, including zirconia. The mill also has an open architecture platform, making it easy to integrate with other technology.
The Emerald S intraoral scanner is also part of the system. Described as easy to use, the upgraded scanner has the ability to take full arch scans in 60 seconds or less. The accurate scanner can be used for aligners and appliances.
As the third part of the system, PlanCad software enables dentists to design restorations in minutes. It features intelligent design tools to automatically generate restoration proposals, improving efficiencies. Its open architecture makes it easy to import and export files. PlanCad is now fully integrated with the Planmeca Romexis® software platform.
