Hu-Friedy’s new Empowerment Kit features hand scalers designed to enhance the effectiveness of the Ultrasonic and AIRFLOW 1 treatment protocol.
The instruments in the set are optimized for detecting and removing residual calculus from interproximal and subgingival areas that are difficult to reach, according to a press release. This is the first set of instruments designed specifically to support ultrasonic scaling and AIRFLOW.
The scalers feature blades that are on average 10% thinner with the clinically proven sharp cutting edge of the EverEdge 2.0, making it easier to access subgingival and interproximal surfaces of the tooth.
The instruments are color coded, making it easy to identify the scalers and curettes that correspond to specific anatomical areas of the mouth and tooth surface. This reduces the time spent identifying different working ends, maximizing efficiency.
The kit can be used for any preventive and hygiene procedures after preliminary treatment that includes ultrasonic scaling and AIRFLOW. Each kit comes with seven scalers and an explorer. The instruments are housed in an Infinity Series Cassette with an additional accessory area to store an AIRFLOW handpiece or similar power instrument.
The kit is customizable. Clinicians can choose from 11 different Empowerment Scalers.
