Carestream Dental recently introduced IO Scanner Link, which allows CS Imaging version 8 software to directly connect to third-party intraoral scanners’ acquisition software not developed by Carestream Dental.
IOS Scanner Link leverages CS Imaging 8, an imaging hub that centralizes and displays all Carestream Dental imaging data, as the core practice platform, according to a press release.
Aggregating, storing and managing all images through one software and patient database allows clinicians to optimize and simplify their digital workflow.
An integrated button within CS Imaging 8 makes it possible to launch intraoral scans from supported third-party scanners, along with necessary patient data. The scan is automatically imported back into CS Imaging 8 to be used for implant planning through the company’s Prosthetic-driven Implant Planning (PDIP) module; surgical guide design with Smop software; sharing with labs; or exporting to other third-party software.
Medit is the latest intraoral scanner manufacturer to integrate with CS Imaging 8 through the IO Scanner Link. This will allow clinicians who use Carestream Dental imaging equipment and Medit intraoral scanners to integrate their favorite devices. Medit scanning solutions support both Windows and Mac computers.
CS Imaging 8 also connects with DEXIS intraoral scanners. Carestream Dental plans to expand the number of integrations in the coming months.
