3M Oral Care recently introduced the Clarity Aligners Flex + Force aligner system, which is designed to give patients a customized treatment experience.
The clear aligner system allows orthodontists to choose from two aligner materials in one treatment design, according to a press release.
It offers Advanced Tx Design through the 3M Oral Care Portal, which provides treatment from simple to complex cases. The aligners are also indicated for aligning teeth during orthodontic treatment of malocclusion and can be used to address patients with mixed dentition.
The Clarity Aligners Flex material is inspired by orthodontists and complements the existing Clarity Aligners Force material by incorporating desirable aligner characteristics that make it possible to tailor treatment. The aligners also fit well and aren't noticeable, both benefits for patients.
Clarity Aligners Flex is made of a proprietary five-layer blend of materials, each chosen for its properties to deliver a synergistic effect. Other features include optimal force persistence, stain and scratch resistance, easy insertion and removal, and good engagement with attachments. The outer layers resist staining and scratching while the inner layers provide flexibility and resilience. The overall structure offers durability while reducing thickness.
Clarity Aligners Flex + Force offers one integrated workflow for two-material Tx Designs. The company’s Oral Care Portal, a cloud-based software solution for Advanced Tx Design, provides access to one platform to plan and refine aligner, digital bonding or combination treatment.
