HENRY SCHEIN ANNOUNCES NEW AEROSOL-REDUCING MAXIMA PRO 2AR™ HANDPIECE
New Handpiece Specifically Engineered for Aerosol Reduction and Anti-Retraction
MELVILLE, N.Y.– Henry Schein, Inc. (Nasdaq: HSIC) announced today the availability of the Maxima Pro 2AR™ handpiece, distributed exclusively by Henry Schein. An extension of Henry Schein’s Maxima Pro 2 handpiece line, the new handpiece design incorporates both aerosol reduction* and anti-retraction features, helping dental professionals to reduce the risk of viral and bacterial spread in their practices.
Engineered as a cost-effective product to address the concerns of dentists without sacrificing performance, the Maxima Pro 2AR™ reduces emission of airborne particles by an average of more than 90% compared to typical high-speed air handpieces.*Anti-retraction is provided through an active sealing system that helps prevent suck-back of fluid and particles, reducing cross-contamination risk.
“We’re pleased to announce the availability of the Henry Schein branded Maxima Pro 2AR™ handpiece, to help ensure the safety of dental professionals, especially as they serve on the front-lines of essential oral care during the COVID-19 pandemic,” said AJ Caffentzis, President, U.S. Dental Distribution. “Our customers can rely on us to offer a wide variety of air management solutions, helping to foster a safer environment for their patients and dental team.”
In addition to its aerosol reduction and anti-retraction capabilities, the Maxima Pro 2AR™ maintains the enhanced ergonomic design of its predecessor, the Maxima Pro 2. The all stainless-steel construction and high-strength alloy head enhances durability and resists dents, while the proprietary wear-resistant surface finish offers improved tactile grip. In addition, the small, but powerful head provides 20 watts of power as well as superior visibility and accessibility. The handpiece is available in both optic and non-optic models with the most popular connections.
