Henry Schein Now Exclusive Distributor of Zyris Dental Isolation System

Henry Schein recently entered into an agreement with Zyris to become the exclusive distributor of the company’s complete isolation system.

The agreement includes the Isolite 3, the Isovac 2, the Isodry and the full line of mouthpieces, according to a press release. The isolation system is designed to give dental professionals greater control and visibility for procedures that require teeth to be isolated and repaired dry, such as laser surgery, crown preparations, restorations or extractions.

The solutions help to minimize bacteria in the mouth and can enhance infection control protocols and aerosol management. The system features hands-free, high-volume evacuator (HVE) devices, and mouthpieces that connect to a dental chair’s HVE line. This gives dental professionals continuous suction throughout procedures, retraction of the tongue and cheek, and airway protection from water, blood, saliva and debris.

The system is designed to improve safety, comfort and convenience for patients while also enhancing practice efficiencies.

The Isolite 3 provides continuous hands-free suction to evacuate debris, helping to mitigate moisture, contamination, soft tissue interference, low visibility, and restricted access. It features an integrated LED light with three levels of brightness.

The Isovac 2 adapter can easily be relocated to any operatory and connected to an existing HVE line, helping to improve mobility in practice workflow. Its control head can be quickly disassembled for cleaning. The tool is sold as a three-pack, which allows for one Isovac 2 to be in use, one to be ready for the next patient, and one to be cleaned and autoclaved after each patient.

The Isodry connects directly into the dental chair’s HVE line and features an integrated vacuum hose. The strong control head assembly is constructed of titanium and weighs 2.5 ounces. It comes with six vacuum pipes that connect Zyris’ mouthpieces to the control head, giving dental teams the ability to treat six patients before the vacuum pipes need to be autoclaved.

Zyris’ patented single-use mouthpieces can be attached to the three devices, retract the patient’s tongue and cheek, protect the patient’s airway, and keep the mouth gently propped open. Continuous two-channel adjustable suctioning helps reduce aerosols intraorally during procedures.

The mouthpieces are available in six sizes and designed to comfortably fit a broad range of patients. They’re made of soft polymeric material to help ensure patient comfort.
