Planmeca Romexis 6.0 Software Receives Golden A' Design Award

The new Planmeca Romexis 6.0 software recently received the Golden A' Design Award in the Interface and Interaction Design Category by the International Design Academy. This is the highest award in the category.

The A' Design Award and Competition is the “worlds' largest design competition awarding best designs, design concepts as well as products and services in both concept stage and realized works,” according to a press release.

It is open to experience designs, human interface guidelines, interaction designs, graphical user interfaces and user interfaces for machines and software.

The grand jury panel of the A’ Design Award and Competition includes established designers, leading academics, prominent entrepreneurs and influential press members. Award criteria includes ease of use, interactivity and interaction content, ease of learning, as well as the functionality and emotional aspects of the interface. Submitted designs are also considered for their degree of innovation, esthetic qualities, choices of medium and usefulness. The most weight is given to the human interaction aspect.

Planmeca Romexis 6.0 software’s redesigned user interface makes the technically complex product more intuitive and adaptable to different specialist workflows. Romexis enables clinicians to capture, view and process all types of imaging data, including x-rays, 3D images, photos and videos, in the same system. The updated software’s user interface gives the user more control. The customizable look and range of tools make workflows more efficient.

“We are honored to receive such a great recognition of our hard work. One key innovation of Romexis 6 is its ability to accommodate both new and advanced users,” Planmeca’s Lead UX/UI Designer Antti Eloheimo said, according to the release. “While experienced users can personalize their workflows as they prefer, less experienced ones can take advantage of the all-new Workflow Wizards. These on-screen interactive guides offer help with quick videos and helpful texts.”
