New Dental Product: SolFlex 170 DLP Dental 3D Printer from VOCO America

VOCO America recently introduced the SolFlex 170 DLP Dental 3D Printer.

The compact desktop printer is designed specifically for dental offices and comes with a variety of features that lead to higher printing speeds, enhanced accuracy and the ability to print clear orthodontic appliances, according to a press release.

It features sensor monitored production (SMP) as well as an optional built-in laser sensor that measures the peeling forces to optimize the building speed. This is said to increase process efficiency and reliability, while also reducing print times.

The printer also comes with 385 nm DLP (Digital Light Processing) chip technology. With a wavelength of 385 nm, the system can print in the invisible spectrum of light, allowing for the production of clear ortho appliances without a yellow tint.

The SolFlex 170 also uses VOCO’s patented Flex-Vat technology. The Flex-Vat build tray is flexible and made from one piece of high-tech silicone, reducing the peeling forces during manufacturing. This enables the printer to work faster while reducing the number of required support structures as well as post-processing time and material used.

Most 3D materials can be used with the printer. VOCO also offers Pyramis software free with all printers along with an optional 24-hour loaner exchange and job continuation solutions with on-call professional dental lab technicians. Customers also receive free training.
