Vista Dental Products recently launched Phasor, a composite warming system that uses near infrared technology to rapidly warm highly filled composite compules.
The warming system can heat composite material to 150°F in a few seconds and maintain that temperature throughout the procedure, while still remaining cool to the touch, according to the company website.
This technique makes it possible to combine the benefits of a bulk fill, a highly filled and a flowable composite all in one. It significantly lowers the material’s viscosity, which leads to better adaptation, reduced voids and microleakage, and improved depth of cure. Materials remain highly sculptable, non-sticky and are easily shaped.
The device can be used with different brands of composites.
