The CS 3600 intraoral scanner from Carestream Dental is now validated for use with MODJAW Tech in Motion, a digital jaw movement tracking system.
The MODJAW solution allows clinicians to create animated 3D models based on intraoral scans. These animated models can be used for treatment planning, according to a press release. The connection takes the CS 3600's STL files and imports them to the MODJAW software where the 3D animated models can be created without the need for x-rays. The movement tracking capabilities can be used to view occlusal contact points throughout the patient's range of jaw movements enabling the design of more precise fitting and functioning restorations.
