Designed to provide dental practices with increased imaging efficiency and freedom, the KaVo NOMAD Pro 2 is a handheld x-ray generator that is as easy to use as it is to move between operatories.
The x-ray generator features a lead-infused acrylic shield to protect clinicians from scatter radiation and an internal housing around the x-ray tube blocks radiation leakage. These protective measures create a safe zone for the clinician through the use of the system, according to a press release. The NOMAD Pro 2 features a 0.4 mm focal spot and provides 60kV of DC power to capture sharp, repeatable radiographs.
The handheld device allows clinicians to stay with the patient during the x-ray process, making it more comfortable for everyone. The system is ready for use without the need for installation and can save money by eliminating the need for x-ray generators in every operatory. The battery provides 30 percent more capacity than previous models, and intuitive controls make it simple to capture diagnostic x-rays while adhering to ALARA principles.
