New Dental Product: Invisalign Go from Align Technology

Align Technology recently introduced Invisalign Go, its newest clear aligner system.

The system is designed to provide a more user-friendly iTero digital chairside experience and greater flexibility to treat a wider range of mild to moderate cases, such as crowded or gap teeth that require straightening before restorative treatments, according to a press release.

Invisalign Go incorporates new data-driven clinical protocols for predictable tooth movement and automated case assessments. These improvements make it easier for dentists to tailor their treatment plans to individual patients.

Features include automated, chairside case assessments and notifications to help guide treatment recommendations; a simplified prescription form based on the patient's chief concerns; automated multiple treatment plans and filters tailored to enable dental practitioners to offer solutions for each patient's unique preferences; and up to 20 stages of aligners designed to treat an array of pre-restorative alignment and mild to moderate malocclusion with features such as configurable interproximal reduction (IPR) and attachments.

The Invisalign Go clear aligner system is designed for general practitioners and features a digital chairside experience using the iTero intraoral scanner, which is the only scanner integrated with Invisalign Go. Invisalign Go guides dentists through identifying, planning, and treating simple cases.

The Invisalign Photo Uploader application simplifies patient photo uploading and allows doctors to take patient photos quickly using mobile device cameras. Photos are uploaded directly to the Invisalign Doctor Site to begin the case assessment in real time, while the Case Assessment Tool helps determine whether the case can be treated within Invisalign Go's clinical protocols. ClinCheck Web, Align's proprietary software, provides an intuitive treatment planning experience.

The system will be available in North America, Australia, New Zealand, and certain country markets in Europe beginning July 1 and will be available in China, Hong Kong, Macau, Japan, and Thailand beginning August 1.
