The MTM (Minor Tooth Movement) Clear Aligner from Dentsply Sirona Orthodontics now has expanded treatment indications.
The clear aligner combines orthodontic techniques with advanced digital modeling to provide a streamlined solution for treating minor anterior misalignments, according to a press release. The technology uses proprietary “open pathway” architecture that allows teeth to easily move into the desired positions.
There’s no need to bond attachments to accomplish the movements, saving chair time and giving patients a more esthetic treatment solution.
MTM Clear Aligners use integrated “force points” to facilitate tooth movement. The points are programmed into the aligner, providing a greater range of tooth movements while making aligner placement and removal easy for patients.
The aligners target the movement and positioning of the six most visible teeth on both the upper and lower arches. The aligner movements address tooth spacing, tipping, torqueing, intrusion, extrusion and rotation. Adults experiencing tooth crowding, orthodontic relapse or who want cosmetic enhancements are ideal candidates.
The company offers a Welcome Kit to help dentists get started. The kit includes discounted patient cases, a Web-based training course, practice marketing and office integration resources.
