New Dental Products: PrograMill Milling Machines from Ivoclar Vivadent

Ivoclar Vivadent recently introduced four new milling machines: PrograMill One, PrograMill PM7, PrograMill PM3 and PrograMill PM5.

PrograMill One is a small 5-axis milling machine that combines industrial manufacturing quality with high precision and modern design, according to a press release. With the 5-axis turn-milling technique, the workpiece rotates around the tool. The tool never leaves the block, and the feed remains constant to ensure short milling times and minimal tool wear.

Various validated processing strategies are available for different materials and indications. The unit’s wireless capabilities make it possible to operate from any location with the help of an app for tablets and smartphones. The optical status display shows the machine’s current status. The mill is coordinated with the scanners and design solutions from 3Shape and has been developed to mill IPS e.max in particular.

The PrograMill PM7 can mill a large variety of materials in a wet and dry state and is suited for a variety of indications. The 5-axis milling process is controlled by an integrated PC with a touchscreen monitor. The material and tool changers work in unison so the fabrication process proceeds independently without interruption. Centralized management of the contents of the material changer and the toll magazine ensures the correct milling strategy is used. An ionizer reduces the cleaning requirements when PMMA materials are processed.

The PrograMill PM3 and PM5 are designed for wet grinding and dry-milling procedures. They can process a wide range of materials for various indications, and the fully automatic materials manager checks the compatibility of the tools and milling strategies. The tool changer ensures consistent manufacturing.

The PM5 has an integrated 8-disc material changer that allows users to complete several milling jobs that involve different materials and indications at the same time. Individual machining strategies offer short process times for the respective restorations.

A comprehensive range of accessories is available for the mills, including software programs, a common base station, color-coding for reliable material handling, and a variety of tools and special attachments.
