Dental Wings recently launched the second generation of the Lasermill system for dental restorations.
The CAD/CAM production technology makes it possible for dental clinics, labs and production centers to easily create high-quality restorations using a wide range of materials, according to a press release.
The system uses millions of short, high-intensity laser pulses to remove small amounts of material from a standard block until the restoration is completed. The small laser spots allow for a resolution more than 10 times higher than traditional CNC mills, resulting in more lifelike restorations.
The system eliminates the need for cutting tools, coolants and complex set ups. It also features an integrated 3D scanner to perform in-process quality control. Traditional CNC mills require downstream manual quality control measurements.
As an open system, the Dental Wings Lasermill can be connected with other open scanning and design solutions.
