Carestream Dental’s CS 8100 3D system is now available with a cephalometric imaging option as well as new 3D applications through the new CS 8100SC 3D extraoral imaging solution.
The CS 8100SC 3D is built on the compact design of the CS 8100 panoramic system and features four-in-one imaging capabilities to enhance diagnoses and improve workflow, according to a press release.
The compact system has a fast scan time and comes with Carestream Dental imaging software that recognizes anatomical structures and traces them automatically.
Featuring panoramic, cephalometric and cone beam computed tomography (CBCT) imaging options, including multiple 3D fields of view—from 4 cm x 4 cm to 8 cm x 9 cm—the CS 8100SC 3D is well suited for orthodontists, general practitioners and multi-specialty practices.
The CS 8100SC 3D also features several updated 3D applications. It’s part of the CS Solutions for Implants Portfolio, which includes the optional prosthetic-driven implant planning module that combines CBCT volumes with digital impression data sets, along with a virtual crown and implant, for “crown-down” implant planning.
As part of the CS Solutions for Orthodontics portfolio, the system can scan traditional impressions or plaster models to create digital models. These models can be manipulated and analyzed in 3D using CS Model software.
The system features a new low dose program, making it optimal for pediatric patients, orthodontic cases and follow-up exams.
The CS 8100SC 3D also features the CS Adapt module, which allows doctors to customize the look and feel of panoramic and cephalometric images to suit their clinical needs.
Doctors who already own a CS 8100 3D can upgrade to the CS 8100SC 3D.
