Enhanced Dental Products: Invisalign G7 and ClinCheck Pro 5.0 Treatment Software from Align Technology

Align Technology recently introduced two product updates:  Invisalign G7, the newest member of the “G-Series” product line, and ClinCheck Pro 5.0 treatment software.

Invisalign G7 is designed to deliver greater control of tooth movements and improved treatment outcomes, according to a press release. It builds on earlier G-Series releases and includes features that enable clinicians to fine-tune certain movements for more finishing details.

Invisalign G7 is powered by Invisalign SmartStage technology, which optimizes the staging and sequence of tooth movements and aligner activation for more predictable results. It is said to deliver better upper lateral control, improved root control and features that help prevent posterior open bites.

Invisalign also released ClinCheck Pro 5.0 treatment software. This software gives clinicians the ability to view side-by-side treatment plans, a more realistic 3D visual model and a configurable toolbar for more flexibility. The software helps clinicians view previously prescribed interproximal reduction values as well as anterior-posterior correction with various options to stage the treatment plan.

The company also recently announced that one-week aligner wear is now recommended for all Invisalign Full, Teen and Assist products instead of two-week wear for each treatment stage, according to a press release. Improvement in product predictability and positive experiences from clinicians who already provide one-week aligner wear make this recommendation possible.

Reducing wear-time from two weeks to one week results in shorter treatment times for patients and increased efficiency and profitability for dentists. The company recommends monitoring tooth movements such as rotations, extrusions and significant root movement. Depending on the patient’s physiologic response to treatment, doctors might want to consider longer wear times if necessary.
