VOCO recently introduced Calcicur, a radiopaque water-based calcium hydroxide paste well suited for direct pulp capping, indirect-pulp capping as well as for use after pulpotomies.
The paste contains 45% calcium hydroxide and provides high pH values (>12.5) for an anti-microbial effect and to promote secondary dentin formation, according to a press release.
The high pH values also allow for the indication of temporary root canal fillings, the disinfection of root canals and the lining of cavities to prevent exposure to acid media when using cements.
Calcicur’s endo tip makes performing root canals easier. The paste can be applied immediately and underneath any lining or restorative material. It comes in a ready-to-use 2.5g syringe designed to prevent moisture loss.

Calcicur®
Ready-to-use radiopaque water-based calcium hydroxide paste
VOCO is excited to introduce Calcicur, a radiopaque water-based calcium hydroxide paste. Calcicur is the ideal material for direct pulp capping and after pulpotomies as well as indirect pulp-capping in cases of deep decay. Containing 45% calcium hydroxide Calcicur provides high pH values (>12.5) for an anti-microbial effect and the promotion of secondary dentin formation. Calcicur’s high pH values also allow for the indication of temporary root canal fillings, the disinfection of root canals and the lining of cavities to prevent exposure to acid media when using cements.
Calcicur’s endo tip makes the root canal treatment very easy minimizing time and effort. Calcicur can be applied immediately and underneath any lining or restorative material and is available in a ready-to-use 2.5g syringe that prevents moisture loss.
