New Dental Products: DWX-4W and DWX-51D Dental Mills from Roland DGA

New Dental Products: DWX-4W and DWX-51D Dental Mills from Roland DGA

Designed to provide the dental industry with a two mill combination for wet and dry fabrication of dental restorations, Roland DGA released the 4-axis wet milling DWX-4W and the 5-axis dry milling DWX-51D.

The company is positioning its open-architecture two-mill solution as an improvement over single mills capable of both wet and dry milling because both types of milling can be accomplished simultaneously and different materials can be fabricated without changing settings on a single machine, according to a press release.

The DWX-51D features a 10-station automatic tool changer, a C-clamp with torque wrench for simplified materials loading, and a built in maintenance routine. It is designed for fabricating copings, crowns, bridges and abutments from zirconia, PMMA, composite resin, PEEK, and gypsum. The 5-axis system can mill with complex undercuts, and an improved airflow system increases vacuum performance for high quality output.

The DWX-4W is designed for wet milling of glass ceramics and composite resins. The spindle can reach 60,000 RPM, and a multi-pin clamp allows three different pin-type materials to be milled simultaneously. A 4-station automatic tool changer allows it to operate without interruption.  Both mills are backed by a 2-year warranty.
