On the heels of Dental Wings’ announcement of its new laser milling technology, a partnership with Heraeus Kulzer has been formed to develop materials for the system.
With a goal of setting new standards in the world of dental CAD/CAM, Dental Wings and Heraeus Kulzer are working in concert to develop digital materials optimized for laser milling, and to distribute the new CAM technology, according to a press release. The laser milling technology can produce restorations from modern composite, glass ceramic and zirconia blocks. Heraeus plans to develop materials that make laser milling and even more efficient and accurate fabrication technology.
The technology is first being show at the 2015 International Dental Show with plans for commercial launch of the laser milling system and compatible materials in the first half of 2016.
