3Shape is officially launching its Implant Studio treatment planning and surgical guide software in the United States and at the same time continues to expand its compatibility with the addition of implant systems from Nobel Biocare.
Implant Studio software merges images from cone beam scans and digital impressions to allow clinicians and dental laboratory technicians to assess a 3D model of the patient’s anatomy to consider details such as bone density and nerve locations when planning an implant procedure, according to a press release. In order to provide the best possible functional and esthetic outcomes, the software allows the design and fabrication of implant restorations and components, as well as surgical guides, all prior to the placement of the implant.
Implant Studio is an open-architecture platform capable of working with all DICOM CBCT scans and STL digital impression files. Additionally, it can provide a communications platform for dentists and technicians to use while working on a case together.
Implant Studio is compatible with a range of leading dental implant systems, and a library of Nobel Biocare implants was recently made available. The compatible Nobel Biocare implant systems include NobelActive, NobelReplace, Replace Select, Brånemark System and NobelSpeedy implants.
