New Dental Products: CrownWorx and FrameWorx 3D Printers from Stratasys

Designed to provide dental labs with efficient production of high precision waxups for crowns and removables the CrownWorx and FrameWorx 3D printers from Stratasys use a wax deposition modeling technology to build computer-designed waxups.

Capable of automated production, both printers use additive manufacturing to produce waxups with smooth surfaces for ideal restoration fit whether a lab is producing crowns and bridges or removable prosthetic frameworks, according to a press release.

CrownWorx 3D Printer

The TrueCast material used by the printers is designed to burn-out with no residue, shrinkage or expansion. The CrownWorx printer is designed for printing crown, bridge and coping waxups in the TrueCast material. The FrameWorx printer also prints with the TrueCast material, and it then sprays TrueSupport material around the casting to support delicate features during the printing process. This material is dissolved after printing and prior to casting the framework.
