Nitrous oxide hoods are used to deliver nitrous oxide gas to patients during conscious sedation procedures and other treatments where nitrous oxide is used as an anesthetic. These masks, or hoods are placed over the patient's nose, making it easy to deliver the precise amount of nitrous oxide gas required for the procedure being performed. A range of hood sizes are available and it is important for it to fit snuggly on the patient, so be sure to have a range of sizes available for any patients you might see. While some hoods are reusable after proper sterilization, many are designed for single patient use.
