Cotton tipped applicators are useful disposable instruments that can be employed to spread liquid, gel and paste materials. These swabs feature a wood or cardboard shaft with a soft cotton tip at one end. This can be used to spread or apply a variety of materials to dental restorations, or directly to a patient's tooth. Different applicator lengths are available, and it's a good idea to find a brand with tips that do not shred or lint.
