Automatic Film Processing Chemicals

Automatic x-ray processors take an exposed x-ray film and develops it by exposing it to a series of chemicals at precise temperatures and for precise times. These systems rely on having the proper chemicals for processing these films. The chemicals include a starter that begins the chemical reactions that develop the film, as well as developer and fixer chemicals that produce the x-ray image and then stop the chemical reactions in order to maintain the final image. Additional chemicals are used to clean the automatic film processing system. Any practice using film x-rays should maintain a ready supply of the chemicals necessary to process the films as well as those needed to keep the processor clean and working properly.
