Dental film illuminators make it easier to view film x-rays by providing a lighted backdrop. These boxes feature a way to clip processed x-ray films to a surface with a light behind it, which then illuminates the x-rays from behind. These illuminators can be wall mounted or set up on a countertop. Any practice using film x-rays should have an illuminator in every operatory as well as any other office where x-rays might be used for diagnostics. They require electricity so be sure to set up your illuminators where they can easily be plugged in with the cord out of the way.
