Dental Intraoral X-Ray Film

Capturing clinical images is the first diagnostic step for many dental appointments, and the use of dental intraoral x-ray film is still common. X-ray film is properly positioned in the patient’s mouth and then exposed by an x-ray generator. The film must be processed to produce a dental x-ray which can be used to diagnose a number of dental conditions. While digital intraoral x-rays are growing more popular, x-ray film is available in a greater range of sizes. It is important to make sure your x-ray generator is set to properly expose the specific film you are using so your patients are exposed to the minimum amount of radiation possible.
