The jaws are serrated for precise gripping and bending of archwires. The pliers may have tip inserts to prevent scoring of wire. Jarabak orthodontic pliers may also feature a cutter for an all-in-one tool. These pliers should be constructed of surgical grade stainless steel to ensure strength, durability and corrosion resistance, and be fully autoclavable.
