Special orthodontic cutters are used for a variety of orthodontic tasks, and many of them combine pliers with a cutter, allowing multiple tasks to be accomplished without changing instruments. These cutters also can be designed for specific cutting tasks. As with all orthodontic instruments, be sure to look for cutters with durable hinges made from stainless steel or another strong and easy to sterilize metal.
