Dentsply Sirona is now seeking entries for its Smart Integration Award, an honor that recognizes visionary treatment concepts and outstanding achievements by women in dentistry.
The award also creates a platform for an international network of talented female dental experts, according to a press release. This year, both female dentists and female dental technicians are invited to apply with their ideas for collaboration between practices and dental labs. Applications are due by June 28.
The award honors creative ideas and successful treatment concepts from female dental experts, including how to improve the treatment experience for patients during diagnosis and therapy and how optimally networked and efficient workflows could look in the practices and dental labs of tomorrow.
A jury of Dentsply Sirona executives and external experts will evaluate the entries. An awards ceremony is scheduled for the end of the year.
Dentsply Sirona first introduced the award in November 2019. That year, 24 women from around the world were recognized for their successes and contributions to efficient, practical workflows at treatment centers.
Entries for the Smart Integration Award 2021 can be submitted as photos, video, text or sketches. The competition covers imaging, treatment centers, digital, orthodontics, endodontics, dental conservation, dental technology, hygiene, implantology, equipment management, design and UX.
"With the Smart Integration Award, we want to integrate the expertise and visions of female dental experts even more strongly into product development,” said Susanne Schmidinger, director global brand marketing enabling devices at Dentsply Sirona Digital Solutions Marketing, according to the release. “In many countries, today, over 50 percent of students at dental faculties are women, with a rising tendency. It is important to enter into dialogue with female dentists and especially with young dental professionals. Their creative potential will significantly influence the future of dentistry.”
