New Dental Product: Monet Laser Curing Light From AMD Lasers

AMD Lasers recently introduced the Monet laser curing light.

Described as the first handheld laser curing light, Monet is designed to provide coherent, consistent laser beam intensity with efficient curing of up to 8 mm in 3 seconds, according to the company website.

Laser light offers many benefits for curing. Because laser light is in a collimated beam, the light beam is straight, so it doesn’t disperse or converge over distance. The spot size and energy remain consistent no matter how far the light is from the target. There are no weak spots in the beam from dispersion or hot spots.

The light is easy to use and rests comfortably in the user’s hands. It features a rotating head that allows access to all intraoral areas.

Other features include a compact laser module to fit the form-factor and optics for parallel beam within the form factor. It also comes with a convenient battery attachment mechanism.

Monet has a spot size of 11 mm and cures most composites.
