Dentsply Sirona recently introduced Surefil one, a restorative filling material that combines the convenience of a glass ionomer with the durability of a composite. The material is part of the company’s Class II Total Practice Solution for challenging Class II situations.
Described as the first self-adhesive composite hybrid, the material offers an unlimited depth of cure, ensuring a complete cure will be obtained in deep cavities without layering, according to a press release.
It also can be light cured, so restorations can be finished and polished right after surface curing.
Because there are fewer steps in the procedure with this material, restorative treatment is quicker and more efficient. Dentists can fill a cavity in one layer without etching or bonding, minimizing the window for contamination risk. This is especially helpful in cases where isolation is a challenge or patient compliance is not ideal.
Surefil one is available in five shades: Bleach White, A1, A2, A3 and A3.5.
