Whip Mix recently introduced the Bellus3D Dental Pro face scanning solution.
The app makes it possible for labs to create customized smile designs that are both functional and esthetic, according to a press release. It also helps patients visualize what their results could be, helping to improve case acceptance.
The scan captures the full face and head with high detail and clarity, virtually enabling the lab to align the teeth with the patient’s face.
The solution also makes it easy for dentists and labs to share data, which enables the lab to make more informed clinical decisions. Labs have access to 3D Aesthetic Guide Planes, which help with positioning the arches using the anatomy of the patient’s face.
The scan works with 3Shape and other design software to virtually articulate the arches using 3D facial features. The result is an integrated view of the face and teeth in 3D for vertical height size adjustment. Facial scans also help with more accurate positioning of the virtual articulator.
