Gregory J. Chavez Named New DTA CEO

The Dental Trade Alliance (DTA) board of directors recently appointed Gregory J. Chavez as the organization’s new CEO. The DTA is an association of companies that provide dental equipment, supplies, materials and services to dental professionals.

Chavez has more than 25 years of association management experience, according to a press release. He most recently served as executive vice president of operations and membership at The Vision Council.

“We believe Greg brings a unique set of experiences and skills to the DTA,” said Dave Steck, DTA Chair and General Manager at Henry Schein, according to the release. “He is well versed in many of the issues facing our industry and association.  Greg will be a great cultural fit and a strong strategic partner for our membership.”

Chavez replaces former CEO Gary Price, who retired in January.

“I’m thrilled to be joining the Dental Trade Alliance in my new role,” Chavez said, according to the release. “I believe my experience in market research, government affairs and industry growth initiatives in the healthcare association industry will translate well and help to take DTA programs to the next level.”
