The ADA Urges Dentists to Postpone Elective Procedures Amid Coronavirus Concerns

The concerns surrounding COVID-19 continue to grow, forcing schools, restaurants and businesses to close in an effort to contain the spread of the disease.

For dentistry to do its part in containment efforts and to keep dental health care professionals and patients safe, the American Dental Association (ADA) has asked clinicians across the country to postpone elective procedures for the next three weeks.

This will enable dentists and their team members to concentrate on dental emergencies and alleviate the burden such emergencies would put on hospitals.

The ADA is continually evaluating the situation and providing updates to its recommendations. The ADA also has put together a Coronavirus Resource Center for Dentists. You can access it here for the latest updates.
