Pierrel Pharma recently received a Best New Product Silver Edison Award for its oral cancer screening device, Goccles.
The device features a patented optical filter with a standard curing light that exposes the fluorescence of healthy mucosa and potentially suspicious pre-cancerous and cancerous lesions, according to a press release. Goccles should be used in combination with a traditional exam to help identify early signs of oral cancer. There is no need to purchase additional consumables to use the device.
Goccles was launched in the U.S. in 2018 and is available through all major distributors including Patterson Dental, Henry Schein, Benco Dental, and Darby Dental.
