3Shape introduced updates to four Studio Apps at IDS 2019: 3Shape Clear Aligner Studio, 3Shape TRIOS Design Studio, 3Shape Implant Studio 2019.1 and 3Shape Splint Studio.
The apps provide an open, intuitive digital workflow for a variety of treatments, including clear aligners, implants, splints and same-day dentistry, according to a press release.
3Shape Clear Aligner Studio is an all-in-one software solution for clear aligner analysis, setup and staging and production preparation. It comes with new automated features, such as ID tagging, attachment sizing and placement.
3Shape TRIOS Design Studio is an easy to use, in-house same-day restorative software. The new version features AI Crown technology, which uses deep learning. Coupled with new adaptive edge protection technology, AI Crown quickly proposes a restorative design. This shortens the time to the production step and can make workflows more efficient. All designs are easy to edit.
The software also features a screw-retained crown workflow and is compatible with a wide range of mills.
3Shape Implant Studio 2019.1 makes it possible to design restorations based on implant planning as well as produce them with an in-house printer or mill for same-day implant dentistry. Clinicians also can send the design to a partner lab for production. With this workflow, clinicians scan the patient in the morning, plan treatment, then design and produce components. Patients return in the afternoon for implant surgery and provisional crown delivery.
Labs also can use Implant Studio to supplement their 3Shape Dental System software to provide surgical guide design and production services, as well as offer implant planning.
Implant planning completed with Implant Studio can be used to create customized abutments, temporary screw-retained crowns and bridges, as well as the final prosthetics in Dental System.
The new Splint Studio makes it easy to produce splints, night guards, protectors and similar dental appliances. It calculates splint designs in seconds while also automatically preparing and optimizing designs for selected manufacturing methods. All designs can be easily edited with intuitive design tools.
Dental professionals who use these apps are able to select the workflow, production and partner options of their choice. The apps interface with most materials, provide connections to third-party mills and are compatible with a variety of 3D printers.
