The TRIOS intraoral scanner from 3Shape now features Artificial Intelligence (AI).
The “AI Scan” in TRIOS processes a range of scan data to make scanning smarter, according to a press release. This feature is designed to improve the ease and speed of digital impression taking by removing soft tissue from scanning.
Tongue and cheek movement, combined with the doctor’s scanning skill level, can make it difficult to avoid soft tissue in scans. When AI Scan is activated, the TRIOS ignores excess soft tissue, improving the scanning experience and reducing the time spent trimming soft tissue.
AI Scan can be switched on and off for cases when soft tissue in the scan is preferred.
Attendees at the Greater New York Dental Meeting had the opportunity to see this new technology as well as the TRIOS MOVE and 3Shape TRIOS patient excitement apps.
