Designed to be used with the AIR-FLOW Therapy system, AIR-FLOW PLUS POWDER is an air polishing powder capable of removing biofilm from delicate intraoral surfaces while also cleaning light to moderate staining.
The new powder expands the applications of the AIR-FLOW system because it can minimally invasively remove biofilm, according to a press release. The powder is made from erythritol, a substance that is harder than typical intraoral polishing powders. It features a 14-micron particle size which is well suited for use on almost any surface including enamel, dentin, soft tissues, dental restorations, orthodontic appliances, and dental implants.
The new powder is designed to help improve practice efficiency, and with its ability to be used on a range of surfaces to remove both stains and biofilm build-up, it fits into a clinical workflow before caries detection, bleaching, and fluoride application.
