The handheld measurement device was designed to be simple to use to capture a measurement of the implant's stability according to the company's evidence-based ISQ scale. It can be used to measure primary implant stability, as well as to track osseointegration based on secondary stability readings, according to a press release. This information can be used to determine the optimal time to load an implant which can help prevent failures and shorten treatment times.
The data captured by The Osstell Beacon is presented in different colors to indicate differing levels of stability. This data can be analyzed via the online Osstell Connect platform to provide deeper insight from the measurements.
