Carestream Dental recently released CS Model+ orthodontic software, which has the ability to automatically segment, setup, analyze and present digital models.
The software automatically detects, segments and labels the patient’s dentition via technology that makes it easy to identify points of interest, such as erupting, supernumerary or missing teeth, according to a press release.
Even though automation is the key feature, clinicians still have the ability to manually modify tooth contour, tooth labeling, mesiodistal orientations and tooth position when necessary.
The software quickly determines how difficult each case is by using a variety of common industry standards, including the Bolton discrepancy analysis, Peer Assessment Rating index, and the ABO discrepancy index. It offers visual simulations of various treatment options, including extraction, interproximal reduction and arch wire, and the resulting occlusion to help ensure the desired treatment outcome is met.
CS Model+ compiles all the data into reports that are easy to generate. Reports are based on user preference and can be customized at every level, and can automatically merge data from cephalometric tracings in either CS Orthodontic Imaging software or CS Imaging software.
Users can easily access the software directly from the patient’s imaging chart, keeping all patient records digital and centrally located.
