New Dental Product: Veraview X800 from J. MORITA USA

J. MORITA USA recently released the Veraview X800, a multifunctional x-ray unit that features 3D, panoramic and cephalometric capabilities.

The unit is equipped with technology that automatically sets the optimal x-ray beam angle: horizontal for 3D or raised 5 degrees for 2D panoramic images, according to a press release. This slight upward projection for panoramic imaging eliminates the shadow from the base of the skull and hard palate, reducing artifacts in the image. Setting the beam horizontal for 3D avoids distortion and reduces prostheses artifacts. Image clarity has been enhanced with a voxel size of 80 micrometer, and a resolution of 2.5 LP/mm, for optimal image clarity.

Field of view (FOV) selection also has been improved. The X800 covers a broad range of 11 sizes, the largest of which allows a scan of the entire jaw region. This model also offers the company’s 3D Reuleaux Full Arch FOV. By closely matching the shape of the natural dental arch, this FOV reduces dose by excluding areas outside the region of interest.

The unit also features zoom reconstruction which allows selected areas of larger images to be reconstructed at a higher resolution of 80 μm without repeating the scan, saving the patient from unnecessary retakes. Two 3D exposure modes offer more control and flexibility with a 360° or 180° rotation.

The X800 covers most dental indications, including oral and maxillofacial surgery, implantology, periodontics, endodontics, orthodontics, and general dentistry. Other features include partial panoramic/cephalometric images, four options for accurate patient positioning, and i-Dixel 2.0 3D imaging software with a DICOM export function.
