 W&H Acquires Osstell

W&H recently acquired Osstell, strengthening its position in the dental implant market.

W&H manufactures dental precision instruments and devices, while Osstell offers implant stability measurement and osseointegration progress monitoring, according to a press release. Osstell’s technology is designed to make dental implant treatment more predictable and safer by measuring the implant stability objectively and non-invasively using ISQ technology (Implant Stability Quotient).

The Osstell technology is available in various products, including W&H’s latest generation Implantmed, an integrated solution that supports dental implant clinicians in their everyday practice.

The ISQ measurements allow clinicians to make decisions based on objective stability values when determining the course of treatment for each patient. This procedure can be used to measure primary implant stability, observe osseointegration based on secondary stability readings and determine the best possible time for loading the implant, helping to prevent failures and ensuring high quality.
