ContacEZ recently released PrepSure dental instruments. The instruments are designed to monitor and confirm the creation of adequate buccal, lingual, gingival and occlusal clearance during crown preparation.
Dentists have had to rely on guesswork to create this clearance in the past, according to a press release. The three PrepSure instruments are designed to help ensure successful fabrication of crowns and onlays, saving clinicians and technicians time as well as reducing stress.
By using the 1.0 mm, 1.5 mm and 2.0 mm tips, dentists can confirm that sufficient reduction has been performed, detect where additional reduction is necessary, and avoid unnecessary reduction to preserve healthy tooth structure.
The instruments are designed to cover indications for all commonly used crown materials. They are also autoclavable.
