During the recent International Dental Show in Cologne, Germany, Dentsply Sirona launched a number of new and enhanced products, as well as solutions combining a range of the company’s products aimed at providing efficient and effective workflows.
One year after the merger between Dentsply and Sirona, the combined Dentsply Sirona is showcasing its full range of dental products that allow it to provide integrated end-to-end solutions for general practitioners and specialists, according to a press release. During a press conference during IDS Dentsply Sirona CEO Jeffrey T. Slovin explained the company will be looking to provide coordinated solutions that provide complete, integrated workflows from diagnosis to final restoration.
Integrated solutions on display during IDS include the new 3D Endo software that combines CBCT-based treatment planning software that can be the foundation of a root to crown (R2C) approach to the entire procedure. These endodontic innovations also take advantage of the expanded WaveOne Gold file system that now includes the WaveOne Gold Glider, a reciprocating glide path file.
New implant solutions include the SmartFix treatment concept that combines 4 implants with angulated abutments to provide an immediate, fixed, full-arch prosthesis. Also launched during the IDS is the OsseoSpeed Profile EV implant that is designed to provide support to the bone around the implant site.
On the digital side of things, Dentsply Sirona demonstrated the latest version of its CEREC CAD/CAM system with the new CEREC SW 4.5 software. The software provides intelligent tools and automated processes to make it more accessible to new users. The new Dentsply Sirona Hub provides easy integration of digital dental data into the practice and easy back up of this critical patient information
A new short version of the T2 and T3 handpiece lines also launched during IDS. The T2/T3 S-Line handpieces are shorter, lighter and designed for ease of use during longer procedures. Among other innovations for the dental lab side of the industry, Dentsply Sirona debuted the Celtra Press pressable zirconia-lithium silicate material and Cercon xt, an extra translucent zirconia material CAD/CAM production.
