Planmeca recently released the Emerald intraoral scanner, a small, lightweight scanner that quickly takes accurate scans.
The compact scanner weighs 183 grams, according to a press release, and is designed to make intraoral imaging easy for the dentist and comfortable for patients. It is said to make the chairside workflow more efficient.
The lightweight structure and user-friendly form offers optimal ergonomics. An active antifog feature on the scanner’s tip mirror provides clear visibility. The simple plug-and-play solution is easy to share between operatories.
The autoclavable tip and seamless design make infection control easy, while dental unit integration enables hands-free operation with the foot control. The scanner is compatible with Planmeca Romexis and Planmeca PlanCAD Easy software suites for constant access to real-time scanning data.
