Ivoclar Vivadent recently introduced the Bluephase Style 20i, a cordless curing light that combines maximum light output with short curing times.
The curing light features Polywave technology and allows all light-curing dental materials in the wavelength range from 385 to 515 nm to be polymerized rapidly without restriction, according to a press release. The high light intensity of up to 2,000 mW/cm2 in the Turbo mode is beneficial for polymerizing indirect restorations. It enables short curing times starting from 5 seconds.
The high light intensity is said to ensure enough energy penetrates the crown or inlay even with high-quality all-ceramic restorations for an adequate and reliable cure of light- or dual-curing luting composite. The light features four adjustable exposure times and two curing programs, High Power (1,200 mW/cm2) and Turbo (2,000 mW/cm2) to match the indication. The settings can be selected using one hand.
All the existing Bluephase Style curing lights are now available with an increased light output from 1,100 mW/cm2 to 1,200 mW/cm2. The existing range of grey, blue and pink colors has been extended to include a green unit.
