New Dental Product: Admira Fusion Flow from VOCO

VOCO recently released Admira Fusion Flow, an all ceramic based flowable direct restorative with the same nano-ORMOCER technology as its packable version, Admira Fusion.

Admira Fusion Flow offers many of the same advantages as Admira Fusion, including up to 50% less shrinkage and shrinkage stress, color stability and biocompatibility, according to a press release. Combining nano-hybrid technology and ORMOCER (ORganically MODified CERamic) technology means silicon oxide forms the chemical basis for both the material’s fillers and the resin matrix. This “Pure Silicate Technology” supports the material’s enhanced physical properties, which include high filler content (74% w/w), low polymerization shrinkage (2.75% by volume) and low shrinkage stress (7.27 MPa).

Admira Fusion Flow is BPA free and is available in the company’s patented non-running, non-dripping NDT syringe. This is said to guarantee safe, precise application without material loss. The material’s flow properties allow for easy wetting of cavity walls, while precise thixotropic and flow-on-demand properties ensure the material only flows under pressure and movement. This allows for stability in the cavity after application and modeling. It’s also easy to polish and is compatible with all conventional bonding agents.

The material is available in 12 shades and offers both a Bleach Light (BL) and White Opaque (WO) shade for special cases, such as bleached teeth and discolored dentin found in pediatric dentistry.
