Research Shows the Canary System Detects Dental Erosion

New research from the School of Dental Medicine at the University of Colorado Denver shows the Canary System can detect dental erosion.

Dr. Clifton Carey and his team conducted the independent research using citric acid to create erosion lesions on extracted human premolars, according to a press release. The results showed a significant relationship between surface loss and the increase in Canary Number.

The independent study was presented at the American Association of Dental Research earlier this month. Evidence from the study shows The Canary System can measure and monitor erosion, giving health professional another tool to manage it.

The Canary System is a caries detection device that uses crystal structure diagnostics to detect, image and measure tooth decay on all tooth surfaces, around the margins of restorations and beneath opaque sealants.
