Designed by Amann Girrbach to serve as an in-lab milling option for dental laboratories using Straumann’s CARES CAD/CAM system, the CARES M Series is a 5-axis mill designed for producing both tooth- and implant-borne restorations.
Capable of milling in both wet and dry modes, the mill can be used to produce inlays, onlays, veneers, crowns, bridges, and screw-retained restorations in materials including glass ceramics, zirconia, PMMA, cobalt chrome, wax, lithium disilicates and resin nanoceramics, according to a press release. Additionally, the mill will be compatible with new pre-milled titanium abutment blanks which will allow dental labs to produce one-piece custom abutments with original Straumann connections.
The mill will launch in Europe later this year with availability in other regions at a later date.
